Change of Seasons Don't let fall get you or your skin down!
I’VE ALWAYS FELT THAT FALL IS the hardest season for your skin to adjust too. Number one, you are leaving the summer with probably more damage than you know or thought you would have. Number two, fall has begun to bring dry, itchy skin, along with three, those allergies. The medicines alone for allergies can cause your skin to get into an uproar. These simple steps will help you to bring restoration to sun-damaged skin, hydration to overly dry skin, and calm irritated skin issues.
The Treatment
First the skin should be given a boost with a chemical peel. I recommend a peel with an Alpha- Hydroxy Acid. This type of peel is good for all skin types and all issues; it’s not too harsh for even Roseca skin. The peel will remove dead skin cells, begin to lighten hyperpigmentation, and send the good signals to the body to produce more collagen, strengthen the elastin, and produce the proteins that repair the skin structure.
At Home Treatment
If you cannot do a professional facial treatment make a mixture of one cup of oatmeal, two tablespoons of honey, a half smashed banana, half of a squeezed lemon (leave the lemon out for people dealing with irritations) and a little water. This will be a mask that you can leave on for 15 minutes to help exfoliate and repair your skin.
At Home Care
Follow up your treatment with a good at home regimen. With all of the creams out there, here are some suggestions to help you choose the cream best for you. For sun-damaged skin you should look for a product that talks about repairing the skin or restoring it. Look for ingredients like Glycolic Acid or Alpha-Hydroxy and also look for Kojic Berry Acid or Coenzyme Q-10. For overly dry skin look for products that talk about hydration. Look for ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid, Panthenol, and Allantoin. For sensitive skin look for products that say soothing and calming. Look for ingredients such as Zinc Oxide, Aloe Vera, and Cucumber Extract. These are just some ideas on what to look for, but my best suggestion is to find a good Esthetician that can recommend a product to fit your needs and properly monitor your skin’s progress in repairing.
I hope these tips help you, and remember you are never too busy to take time for yourself; it’s one of the worst mistakes we make. And being stressed is one of the biggest problems that your skin has too taken on. Force your life to adjust to you, and don’t forget it’s your life you make it what it is, no one else will do it for you. So if you are waiting, stop! And just do it. Make it happen ~ no matter the goal ~~ no matter the dream ~~no matter the vision. No matter how young, no matter how old. No matter what “they” said to you, no matter what “they” did to you. If you believe in yourself and know who you are you can make it happen!! And Remember,
“If you don’t quit you will win.” Quote by Dr. Robb Thompson
