It saddens me to see so many people relying on fast food restaurants to provide many of their meals. Children are growing up not knowing how to cook. One day a little girl was over at one of our pastor’s homes. His wife was preparing dinner for the family. She was making homemade chicken pot pie. The little girl made this comment to the mother, “Oh, my mom buys that.” When I heard about this it saddened me. This little girl is going to grow up thinking the norm is to buy already prepared food. This is much more expensive and does not create a real family atmosphere. It causes a rushed environment to be present. Cooking at home gives you and those with whom you live warm memories. It creates an atmosphere that is not present with already prepared, store bought foods.
The Proverbs 31 woman gets up early to prepare food for her family. She brings her food from afar. She’s a good shopper. I hope you try the recipes in this section and make a decision to have some home cooked meals every week.
