Every month we will have a monthly
prayer topic. We want to encourage you to pray along with us since one
puts a thousand to flight and two puts ten thousand to flight. If
you have prayer requests, please send them to info@center31.com, so we
can stand with you.
Prayer Topic: Who Do We Pray To?
Knowing
who God is will help in your prayer time. This name
of God let’s us know that He is always with us. When you talk (pray) to
God,
think of Him as someone who is right next to you that you are conversing
with.
As you become more conscious of His presence, it will increase your time
of
prayer/fellowship with Him.
Jesus reveals Himself in His Name: IMMANUEL
Immanuel - the Name of Jesus that appears in the Old and New
Testament. Immanuel means, ”God with us”, or “with us is God”.
Matthew
1:22-23 (Amplified Bible)
All this took place
that it might be fulfilled which the Lord had spoken through the
prophet,
Behold, the virgin shall become pregnant and give birth to a Son, and
they
shall call His name Emmanuel--which, when translated, means, God with
us. (See
Isaiah 7:14).
What
comfort there is to know that God is with us, no matter
where we are or what situation we are in. Our sins have separated us
from God,
so we could not come to Him. God took the outrageous step of coming to
us! So
the enormous Love, who is God, has reached to us by sending Jesus as a
ransom
for our sins. (Ransom means a sum of money or other payment demanded or
paid
for the release of a prisoner; the holding or freeing of a prisoner in
return for
payment of such money; to obtain the release of (a prisoner) by making a
payment demanded.) We could not afford what it cost to be made righteous
before
God. Hallelujah -
The debt has been paid for
our forgiveness of sins so that we
can KNOW GOD - IMMANUEL and enter His Presence.
Psalm
139:7-13 (Amplified Bible)
Where could I go from
Your Spirit? Or where could I flee from Your presence? If I ascend up
into
heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol (the place of the
dead),
behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning or dwell in
the
uttermost parts of the sea, even there shall Your hand lead me, and Your
right
hand shall hold me. If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me and the
night
shall be [the only] light about me, even the darkness hides nothing from
You,
but the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both
alike to
You. For You did form my inward parts; You did knit me together in my
mother's
womb.
When
you feel discouraged, abandoned or alone, remember the
King Almighty, the Lover of your soul is right there. Stop, close your
eyes and
start to call on His wonderful name, acknowledge Him and you will feel
His
presence. Begin and end each day recognizing that Jesus is our IMMANUEL -
God
with us.
