The Obama administration is reportedly
close to pushing ratification of the "UN Convention on the Rights of
the Child" treaty (CRC). This is a call for prayer and action! On
June 1 and 2, Georgetown University Law School hosted a two-day
symposium entitled "The Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC):
Why It Is Time to Ratify." This well-funded conference was held to
organize a new coalition effort by American internationalists to seek
ratification of the UN child's rights treaty.
Click Here to read the entire article. Ten things you need to know about the content of the CRC: 1. Parents would no longer be able to administer reasonable spankings to their children. 2. A murderer aged 17 years and 11 months and 29 days at the time of his crime could no longer be sentenced to life in prison. 3.
Children would have the ability to choose their own religion while
parents would only have the authority to give their children advice
about religion. 4. The best interest of the child principle
would give the government the ability to override every decision made
by every parent if a government worker disagreed with the parent's
decision. 5. A child's "right to be heard" would allow him or
her to seek governmental review of every parental decision with which
the child disagreed. 6. According to existing
interpretation, it would be illegal for a nation to spend more on
national defense than it does on children's welfare. 7. Children would acquire a legally enforceable right to leisure.
8.
Christian schools that refuse to teach "alternative worldviews" and
teach that Christianity is the only true religion "fly in the face of
article 29" of the treaty. 9. Allowing parents to opt their children out of sex education has been held to be out of compliance with the CRC. 10.
Children would have the right to reproductive health information and
services, including abortions, without parental knowledge or consent.
PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS MUST RISE UP...BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE... PLEASE PASS THIS INFORMATION ON TO OTHERS...MANY ARE CLUELESS...
Please pray and call officials and let your voice be heard. Call the White House comments line at 202-456-1111. Call
UN Ambassador Susan Rice at the United Nations at 212-415-4000, and
dial 6 to leave your message. OR dial the Public Diplomacy Office at
1-212-415-4050 and leave a message. OR dial her office directly at
1-212-415-4404. Again, you will need to leave a message. This
is not a message our officials want to hear, so speak courteously but
do not expect a cordial reception. The important thing is to get the
message through. It is important that you make this call. A decision
by the President is imminent. "The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, like the channels of water; He turns it wherever He wishes." (Proverbs 21:1) Go to http://www.parentalrights.org to learn more about the CRC
Prayer Topic: Children
This
month’s prayer topic is for children. Pray that they are safe. Pray
that they get to hear God’s Word. Pray that they live for the Lord.
Pray that they delight in God’s Word. Pray that they are established
in righteousness…..
God Reveals Himself In His Name: El Elyon
My
husband Mark, was watching a show on TV about people with mental
retardation. Compared to the regular person, these people seemed to be
lacking skills we daily take for granted. Yet some had extreme
abilities mentally that surpass humankind. One young man played a song
in 'Mozart style' on the piano, another was able to do complicated math
in a moment, excelling a computer with the number of decimal places
he was able to name (34/97). These people are geniuses living at
optimum in these areas.
In the same way, we lack in areas of our lives, but GOD MOST HIGH - EL ELYON comes into our lives to teach us the ways we should go and gives us understanding.
EL ELYON means The Mighty One Most High, possessor of heaven and earth (Genesis 14:18-22). His Name is so marvelous, high and exalted that nothing can surpass Him. "EL ELYON is
a name that is untouchable in quality, and incomprehensible in dominion
and might" (Marilyn Hickey, Names of God, pg 198). This is the name
that Satan wanted to exalt himself above (Isaiah 14:13,14). He coveted
the position of Most High! But that is not attainable! He was cast out
of heaven and his end will be isolation without glory or authority! There is only One who is Most High, Our Mighty God, EL ELYON.
Through the Name EL ELYON - we can be lifted to a higher level than our problems or circumstances.
We
limit ourselves and God's Word by our perception of our situation.
Instead of seeing and understanding things from God's perspective, we
rely on our lowly experience and feeble understanding. EL ELYON, the
Most High God, is our Redeemer - Jesus (Psalm 78:35)
Let's embrace EL ELYON as our Most High God. God is MOST HIGH. We must become the 'most low before Him'. Let's humble ourselves before Him by acknowledging His Greatness, and seek His direction to conform to His Word. Psalm
82:6 says we are children of the Most High God. Be a DOER of God's
Word. Let's live like Him, at our optimum IN EL ELYON!!!
Seeking God While He May Be Found
I
went to visit my sister south of Atlanta. While away from my husband,
Mark, I left messages for him on his phone, but he didn't reply. After
some time I realized that I had the two phone chargers with ME, and he
couldn't be contacted! How frustrating and irritating it was for me as
there were important things I needed to communicate with him.
Are
we separating ourselves from God by not communicating with Him in
prayer? Do we miss our daily times of fellowshipping with Him and
reading the Word, and then find ourselves frustrated and irritated? How
awful and devastating it would be not to be able to communicate with
Almighty God. We must treasure our opportunities to seek Him and to
pray.
We know the scripture of Jeremiah 29:11 of how God has a plan for our lives. Let's look at verse 12-13, "Then
you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.
And you will seek (try to obtain) Me and find (obtain) Me, when you
search for me with all your heart". God knows when we mean business
with Him and when we are just flattering Him. He knows when we are
genuine towards Him or just trying to relieve our consciences.
Please take a moment to reflect on your spiritual thermometer towards God.
Are
you spending time in prayer and Bible reading? Are you seeking
(inquiring, requiring as essential) Him with all your heart? Do you
call on Him and acknowledge Him as the Mighty God? Do you try to work
things out for yourself through anxiety and fear? Or do you rest in
Him, knowing He IS ABLE to direct you!
Some people are desperate for answers, so they turn to fortune tellers for a quick answer. Leviticus 19:31 says, "Do not turn to mediums or seek spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God".
When seeking God, there are four things to understand!
1. Purpose to Acknowledge and Seek God. Purpose
to submit to God's Word as final authority in the way you think.
Purpose to live by His standards, by sowing good seed to reap a desired
harvest. Make Him the Most High God and humble yourself. Repent for
selfishness and confess your sin!
2. Pray to Him. Prayer
is so vital in declaring our trust in God! Prayer opens doors for God
to reveal Himself as our Deliverer and Savior. Prayer gives a path for
God to work mightily on behalf of others to bring victory when we
intercede.
Daniel set his face toward the Lord God to make
request by prayer and supplications with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes.
His prayer acknowledged the Great and awesome God who keeps covenant
with those who love Him (Daniel 9:3-4). He prayed for 21 days for an
answer, but it was delayed. Dont give up praying, KEEP PRAYING. Your
responsibility is to pray, God's responsibility is to perform His Word.
Please don't give up, He who promised is faithful. God will perform
His Word. Daniel's answer came, and so will yours.
3. Perceive. As
you pray, you will perceive what the will of God is. God will lead you.
I was praying on Saturday morning, when suddenly I took authority by
praying in the spirit. It was like arm wrestling (spiritually), where
you agree with God and His Word in prayer to bring about His Will and
then His power is released. Later that day I called a friend who needed
Divine Intervention in a situation, and I had prayed at the exact
time, agreeing with God - and she had the victory - Praise the Lord!!
4. Prayer brings God's power.
Situations change when you invite God in. People call on God,
provision, protection and prosperity is released, and God's Power is
manifest in victory. Hallelujah! While visiting my friend Marissa last
year, her husband, John, told me to pray. I told him eagerly that I had
recently increased my prayer time. He came past some time later and
said, "Colleen, you must pray!" I thought to myself, "I just told him
I'm praying more!" Later he came by again and told me to pray more.
This time it was like God Himself had spoken to me. Humbly I responded
to God now, not to his servant, and committed to seek Him more
diligently and to pray more fervently. (I felt like Peter who just
didn't get it when Jesus asked him, "Peter, do you love me?")
There
is so much going on around us: sneaky laws being passed, justices being
elected that will influence our country for 20-30 years, new
technology, more humanism, faster lifestyles, more choices, more peer
pressure, greater influences and rampant disease!
We must take time to SEEK HIM - EL ELYON - WHILE HE MAY BE FOUND... Pray in the Spirit and Live at optimum.
