Everyday money is a big factor in our lives. We cannot live without it. In today’s economy we do so much by credit card we lose track of our money and get in debt. Americans are the biggest consumers in the world and are more in debt personally than any other nation. It is time we become wise spenders and wise managers of our money.

The Proverbs 31 woman knew how to earn money, how to find a bargain, and how to make wise investments. In this class we will teach you these as well as other things concerning money. We’ll even touch on starting your own business. After all you are a wise woman of God.

Smart Shopping

Would you like to sow an extra $1,000 or more? Or would you like to go on a shopping spree? Or would you like to make a major purchase? Have you ever wondered if you could do or have something you thought was out of your reach? Were you convinced it was impossible to get? By saving only $19.23 a week, you can save a $1,000 in a year.

We are limited in our minds because the world has told us how we should live with the money we have. The Bible says that, “All things are possible to them that believe” (Mark 9:23). Our part is to just believe. You may not be at a place in your life where you can believe to make a large purchase, but you have to start somewhere. All we need is faith the size of a mustard seed. That seed is the size of a lowercase o in this article. That’s not much faith.

There is still a way if you are short on cash. Consider this, if you make a purchase you normally would make and saved five dollars you would be 25% closer to the weekly goal. A little here and a little there adds up to a lot more. Each time you are out shopping, purpose to just save a few dollars.

Shopping smart is one of the ways to increase your cash. Many of us say we don’t have time to shop smart. We go into a store, get what we need, and we quickly leave. Don’t let retailers dictate to you how much you should spend.  You and I should be the ones who decide what we want to pay.  With so many products and services produced, you can catch a great sale any time of the year. “She watches for bargains” (Proverbs 31:18 NLT).

"Sale" is not a cheap person’s word.  Even high end stores offer sales. Many of them will slash prices up to 75% off the regular price. Sometimes the savings are greater at a department store than at a discount store. I prefer to put those savings in my pocket.

The first thing you should do is pray. Don’t go out shopping until you pray for an anointing to get the best for your money. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you as to where and when you should go. Make sure you listen because He is never wrong. Second, set an amount of what you want to spend. If you use cash, you will be limited to what’s in your hand. Credit cards are convenient but you can easily overspend.  Start with cash until you are confident you would stick to your budget. As you save money, set it aside until you accumulate enough for that special project for which you believe.

Remember, something that you can do on your own does not require faith. Don’t let doubt and unbelief keep you from all God has for you. You have everything you need to produce anything. You can do it!
