The Heritage of God - Supernatural Childbirth

Legacy.... the older a person gets the more valuable this word becomes.  Legacy means leaving behind something you have done for others. Abraham Lincoln left behind a legacy of greatness for other Presidents to follow.  Al Capone left behind a legacy of destruction that has haunted Chicagoans all around the world.  It’s so true.  If you go to any other city or country, when people in the world think of Chicago, they think of gangsters.  And somehow that attempts to trickle down into the identity of any person who says they’re from Chicago.  I am so grateful that even though I come from Chicago my legacy stems from a completely different world!

Heritage...it’s an interesting word.  It means property that descends to an heir, something transmitted or acquired from a predecessor, or something possessed as a result of one’s natural situation or birth.   Basically, it’s what I will leave behind, spirit, soul and body to my future generations.  As a result, you must ask yourself these questions, “What will my life count for in today’s world?  What will I leave behind for my family and loved ones? Will my actions today mean anything for future generations? Will my heritage grow into what was mapped out for them from before the beginning of time and fulfill their destinies?”

I pray that these questions will be satisfactorily answered in your lifetime.  As for me, I began thinking of these things very early in life.  At 18 years old, I realized that I had no future, my life was a shambles and there was no hope for me.  That is when Jesus Christ found me, scooped me up and loved me...I mean He LOVED me!  He gave me a new heritage, a new hope for living. God gave me a fresh new start when I became born again in 1976. I look back on my life and I see my legacy now.  There is a loving husband who has shared my life for 33 years.  There are three children who love and serve the Lord. There are six beautiful grandchildren who love and respect their elders.  I am truly overwhelmed at the love and closeness we share in Christ.

This is an article that is supposed to be about my experiences on having supernatural childbirth.  But what I have said in the previous paragraphs is just as much about your childbirth as the actual act.  Realize before you even begin to have children, that you are bringing the Heritage of God into the World.  You are procreating His legacy here on the earth!!  I must at this point give honor to Jerry Savelle.  When I was a young believer, I bought a Parallel Bible from Jerry Savelle Ministries.  In the beginning of the Bible, Jerry wrote an introduction on these very things; legacy, heritage, inheritance. It has profoundly impacted my life to which I will be eternally in a debt of thanks for his divine influence in my life.

It was from this Bible that I began to discover the realities of supernatural childbirth.  I had already gone through one delivery that, had it not been for the absolute power of prayer and the grace of God, I would not have been able to contrast the difference between a natural childbirth and supernatural childbirth.  They always say that the first childbirth is the hard one.  Well, I had absolutely no idea what that meant until the day my oldest daughter was born.  I thought I was going to die!  It was back in the day before the art of epidurals and planning your delivery was even known!  A cesarean section delivery was only considered as a last resort, usually after a woman labored for 40 hours or more.  I was a brand new born again baby myself with absolutely no clue what the Bible said about pregnancy, labor and childbirth.  After laboring all day and the doctor wanting to send me home in the middle of all that, I received a bad report about my child who was in a breach (butt first) position.  Our precious doctor told my husband that it was going to be a long hard delivery.  He called his Spirit-filled Mama who got on the prayer chain.  That was 7:30pm.  I was in the thralls of intense hard labor when this was going on.  At 7:40 I was sent into a cold delivery room where I had to put my legs up into these steel stirrups (oh, I remember this like it was yesterday!)  And though all these things were going on around me, the only thing I could sense was a blanket of prayer that had all of a sudden wrapped itself around me. I could feel God’s presence.  Thirteen minutes and three episiotomies later, at 7:53pm, our beautiful Elizabeth Theresa was born.  Yes, that was a truly amazing testimony.  It was God’s acceptable will for me.  He was there with me and showed what powers truly prevailed that night.  Oh it was glorious... until I had to recover from three episiotomies!

Three years later we found ourselves pregnant again.  But this time I began to find out what God’s Word had to say on the subject.  My wonderful twin sister purchased a little book called Childbirth God’s Way.  The author was an advocate of home births who had experienced real supernatural childbirth.  She simply believed what God said about all of this. We were growing in faith by leaps and bounds by then, so when I found out what  the Bible actually said concerning pregnancy, labor and childbirth I was thrilled...and our family thought we were nuts!!!

I found in Genesis 49:25 that God is the God who would help me!  And that He would bless me with the blessings of the breast and of the womb.

Exodus 23:26 told me that I would not miscarry... and the number of my days (of pregnancy) He would fulfill!  He stated in Isaiah 66:9 that He would bring me through to the point of delivery, and at the appointed time He would deliver me and not shut the womb!!!  I will list the promises a little later on, but please realize that there is a vast difference in having a baby by the grace of God and purposely delivering your baby by the revealed Holy Scriptures.  Even though the enemy came for the Word to try to put fear on me and nullify God’s promises, it was just smoke blown away with the wind.  Joe and Suzanne were both born without pain, without episiotomies... and the postpartum came without the blues attached.  I went from one level of faith to the next level of faith. And then went from glory to glory!

This is the perfect will of God concerning you and your child birthing experiences.  This is now the heritage and the legacy I have left behind for my future generations.  I fully expect my great great granddaughters to enjoy delivering their children with the full power of God’s Word behind them.  I know that my generations will now inherit the same blessings that I have experienced.  It is the legacy of God here in the earth.

Let’s get down to brass tacks now regarding how to do this.  There is mental preparation associated in having a supernatural childbirth. You must know that there is no turning back for you.  In your mind you must be absolutely convinced that God’s way is the only way for you. He did say that His yoke is easy and His burden is light.  There is a very important truth that you must get first, and that is, you can’t assume anything!!  I’m not kidding!!  Every mother has a story.  Every story is different.  Your experience in childbirth will be unique and fascinating as well.  You cannot assume that what happened to Sister Susie will happen to you.  You cannot err from the Truth spelled out in God’s Word regarding supernatural childbirth.  That was Eve’s problem. She assumed what God said rather than absolutely knowing what God said and that directly affected her childbearing experience.  1 Timothy 2:16 says that you will be saved in childbearing as you continue in love and faith with sobriety.  The word sobriety means, “as well as being unassuming”.  When the Holy Spirit revealed this to me I all of a sudden found myself tuning out the stories. I began to only look at that which was written.  I did not veer to the left or the right.  I removed my foot from evil.  The Word actually became life to me and health to all my flesh.

When the day of delivery came, even though I experienced great pressure physically, there was absolutely no fear and no pain.  I turned into a machine that processed a beautiful life in a very short amount of time, with no glitches.  Even while in the process, when the doctors and nurses were saying things contrary to what I knew, I once again felt that Presence, but I also heard His voice, whispering instructions in my inner ear. I would sense His prompting me to lay in a certain way.  Unique little things that made the doctors reel in their professional training! By the time it was all over, the doctors and nurses were asking me to go across the hall to coach other women who had been laboring for hours!!!  Of course they were kidding, but I was ready to go...and honored to be well enough for the task.  I recall after one of my twin sister’s supernatural births, she got up and tried to make everyone breakfast!!  Of course we didn’t let her, but you get the idea.

The childbearing years are so precious and fleeting.  Before you know it, your kids are grown and out of the house starting families of their own.  So while I was in those years, I stayed away from anything what would pull me out of my joy journey with Jesus.  I kept on a course of sobriety that I now still enjoy.  And when I still hear the stories, it is all filtered through God’s Word.

I hold out hope to you, dear sisters... Today can be a fresh start for you.  If you and your husband are at that crossroads of starting your family, do it with the full Word of God on as your armor.  If you have had c-sections before, don’t let that stop you from letting God do a work in you.  Oh, by the way... even though our family thought us to be nuts, now they all enjoy what the Lord has done for them in their own experiences.  God is Great and Greatly To Be Praised!!!

Childbirth God’s Way Scriptures

There are many scriptures that reveal God’s will on pregnancy, labor, delivery, postpartum, and childrearing.  There are also many resources to help you. A website and ministry to help you is...www.unhinderedliving.com

Genesis 49:25 (AMP)
By the God of your father, Who will help you, and by the Almighty, Who will bless you with blessings of the heavens above, blessings lying in the deep beneath, blessings of the breasts and of the womb.

Exodus 23:26 (NIV)
And none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span.

Exodus 1:19 (NLT)
“The Hebrew women are not like the Egyptian women,” the midwives replied. “They are more vigorous and have their babies so quickly that we cannot get there in time.”

Psalm 119:73
Your hands made me and formed me; give me understanding to learn your commands.

Isaiah 49:5
And now the LORD says— he who formed me in the womb to be his servant to bring Jacob back to him and gather Israel to himself, for I am honored in the eyes of the LORD and my God has been my strength-

Psalm 139:13-16
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.  My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body.  All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

Deuteronomy 28:11
And the LORD will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the LORD swore to your fathers to give you.

Deuteronomy 7:13
And He will love you and bless you and multiply you; He will also bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your land, your grain and your new wine and your oil, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flock, in the land of which He swore to your fathers to give you.

Psalm 22:9-10
But You are He who took Me out of the womb; You made Me trust while on My mother’s breasts.
I was cast upon You from birth. From My mother’s womb You have been My God.

1 Timothy 2:15
Nevertheless she will be saved in childbearing if they continue in faith, love, and holiness, with self-control. (Moffat’s says, “as well as being unassuming.”)

Isaiah 66:9
Shall I bring to the time of birth, and not cause delivery?” says the LORD.  “Shall I who cause delivery shut up the womb?” says your God.  (Or you could say as I did,  He shall bring me to the point of delivery, and at the appointed time, He shall deliver me and not shut the womb!)

  Promises from God

  To Mothers To Be

Because it was God who began a GOOD WORK in me
and is faithful to complete it, and because the Lord  took
all sickness and pain on the cross with Him, I will have a
perfect pregnancy and a smooth, easy, and painless
   delivery.
(Phil. 1:6)

Because Children are a GIFT from GOD, our Baby shall
be vigorous, healthy, one that is happy, peaceful and
   a joy to be with.

   (Ps. 127:3, 128:3, Deut. 28:11, 28:4, Ps. 127:5)

I resist all morning sickness in Jesus Name.
   (James 1:7, Isa. 40:29, Ex. 23:25, 1Pet. 2:24)

God’s Word says that my body will become as healthy as a
child’s, firm and youthful, therefore, I will have no stretch
marks, varicose veins or any other negative symptoms
   blamed on my pregnancy.

   (Job 33:25)

I humble myself under God’s mighty hand and in due
season He will deliver the baby and not shut the womb.

   (1 Pet. 5:6, Ps. 71:6, 91:14)

Because God has made all the delicate, inner parts of our
baby and knit them together in my womb, I thank God that
the umbilical cord is placed exactly where it should be
and our baby will be born perfect, head first, face down
and will rotate as he/she should.

   (Ps. 139:13, 22:9, 22:10, 71:6, 91:1)

I am hid in the shelter of the almighty and HE protects the
   uterus, placenta and umbilical cord.
  (Ps. 91:1, 91:4)

My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit; therefore, I will
gain the proper amount of weight during my pregnancy
and will have a perfect figure after the baby is born
because I am a doer of the Word and not a hearer only.

   (Ps. 128:3, 1Cor. 6:19, Jas. 1:22)

I think on those things which are true, pure, honest,
lovely, praiseworthy and virtuous and take captive any
other thought into the obedience of Christ. I reject fear
   at every turn.
(Phil. 4:8, 2Cor. 10:5)

The Word says that our sleep is peaceful and without fear,
therefore, the Baby and I get the proper amount of
   rest everyday.
(Eccl. 5:12, Prov. 3:24)

   Exodus 1:19 (NLT)
“Sir,” they told him, “the Hebrew women are very strong.
They have their babies so quickly that we cannot get
there in time! They are not slow in giving birth like
   Egyptian women.”
Therefore, I have a nice, quick,
   easy painless delivery.
